Short Review :

"The Shadows of London" is the second book in the "Joe Bridgeman" series. While it stands as a self-contained story with a satisfying conclusion, the second part introduces a completely new narrative. I found it just as engaging and humorous as And Then She Vanished. Ray Porter’s narration, once again, was exceptional. He has definitely earned a spot on my list of "Top Narrators".

Long Review :

Joe wakes up to find himself in London, only to quickly realize that he's in the 1960s—further back in time than he's ever been before. As time passes, panic sets in as he grows uncertain whether he'll ever return, but eventually, he does. To his surprise, he encounters WP Brown again, the leader of a group of time travelers who had once invited Joe to join them, an offer he had turned down. Joe attempts to repair his relationship with Alexia and also tries to understand what went wrong between her and the other Joe, leading to her intense hatred of him.

Joe stumbles upon an old radio in his shop and can't resist taking a closer look. But the moment he touches it, he’s transported back to the 1960s in London again. He’s sure it’s W.P. Brown’s doing, but when he meets him, Brown denies it and tells him he’s now connected to the radio. Joe’s frustration with him grows when he’s forced to go back to the '60s to save a woman. The adventure kicks off when Vinny joins him on his time-traveling ride, but things go wrong, and they both end up hurt. Joe decides to go solo next time. They make a plan, but, well, one can only plan so much, right?

The ending was good, but it wasn’t quite what I expected. However, it makes sense if it's setting things up for the third part. We get some hints about the secret organization, and I’m sure everything will make sense in the next installment, which I’m definitely excited to hear. Grab your audiobook here!
